her sunday ritual - patience

Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day.
— A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

this weeks' ritual

For some, losing control over our patience happens often. Your body tenses, you start thinking negative thoughts and you say something you later regret.

Being impatient is synonymous with the feeling of being rushed, but for what? Practising patience takes time. Learn to recognize your triggers and you’ll better understand your reactions. Forgo instant gratification and feel happier in the long run.

Right now, take a breath. Relax your body. Check in with your emotions. How do you feel right now? Anything you are feeling impatience with? Where do you feel it? Be present with it for a few moments, observing, breathing and feeling.

your ritual

Stretch it out. Whether it be at home or a yoga session, we challenge you to carve out time this week to stretch it out. Focus on deep stretches in areas that need a little extra love. Sit at a desk all day? Open up those hips and shoulders. On your feet? Get right to your feet, calves and lower back. Try to hold each stretch for 3-5 mins. Not only will you get the benefits of loosening up those muscles, but it’ll force you to take the time to give your body (and your mind) the love it needs.

your mantra

“I will embrace an attitude of patience”

“I am cultivating acceptance of what is actually here in the present moment”

yours to ponder

"how will I feel about this moment in 5 years?"

"do I actually need to rush this moment/response/reaction?"
