brain dump - her sunday ritual
Your Sunday Ritual:
Do a Brain Dump
Get everything out of your head, onto paper. With no rhyme or reason. Just do it. All things that stress, worry or weigh on you. Small, large, etc. I’ve been reading its great to do at night before bed (dump it all onto paper so you can get it out of your mind); but, for me, I find first thing in the morning is when my head starts spinning with to dos that I prefer to do it there.
By doing a physical act such as writing it onto paper, we are able to clear our head while also allowing concerns and stressors that you haven’t admitted to yourself to come out free flowing.
Brighton Keller, did a great article on how to brain dump here. I love how she suggests to do the brain dump, and then later come back to it and do some organizing and replan your thoughts. This gives you permission to fully ‘dump’ your thoughts and come back.
I’ve started trying this and love the physical act of writing it down without worrying about perfecting my list.
It's like taking the contents of a drawer, and dumping them onto a counter to then sort.
YOUR SUNDAY RITUAL- BRAIN DUMP
Grab a pen and paper. Write down anything and everything. Sleep on it or at least a few hour break. Then come back to it, and make new ‘categorized’ brain dumps.
YOUR MANTRA THIS WEEK:
I have a clear mind.
